Alannah Hopkin's latest book, Eating Scenery: West Cork, the People and the Place, a travel book for The Collins Press, was published in April, 2008. She has also published two novels, a travel book about St. Patrick, and two guides to southwest Ireland. Her stories have appeared various publications including the London Magazine, Stand and the Cork Review. Educated at Queen Mary, College, London and Essex University (M.A. Literature), she has lived in County Cork since 1982. She writes mainly about art, literature and travel for the Irish Arts Review, the Irish Examiner, and the Irish Times. She is co-author of Ireland Step by Step, Insight's new pocket guide to Ireland (2010). The Ship of Seven Murders – A True Story, co-written with Kathy Bunney, will be published by The Collins Press in August, 2010.
