Ellen McCarthy was born in West Waterford but now lives in Waterford city.
She studied Literature and Sociology in Dublin City University before beginning her writing career with the publication of her first book Guarding Maggie in 2008. This was followed with the launch of her second book Guilt Ridden in 2009. Ellen’s current book Silent Crossing was released last month and became a top ten bestseller in Ireland. All of Ellen’s books to date are Psychological fiction. She has travelled extensively and has used a recent trip to Central America as the inspiration for her current novel Silent Crossing.
